Le Leica M11-D allie les sensations de la photographie analogique aux multiples possibilités du monde numérique. En termes de design et de technique, il se concentre résolument sur le processus photographique. Sans écran et sans distraction, il se concentre sur les caractéristiques élémentaires de la création d'images : composition, diaphragme, vitesse d'obturation et ISO. La molette de réglage ISO mécanique située à l'arrière de l'appareil renforce l'expérience analogique. Avec sa technologie d'authenticité basée sur le matériel et les Leica Content Credentials conformes à la Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), il crée la confiance dans les contenus d'images numériques.
Le M11-D fait valoir ses atouts numériques avec l'application Leica FOTOS. Connectée à l'appareil mobile par Bluetooth ou par câble, elle s'intègre parfaitement dans le flux de travail numérique et permet des réglages individuels supplémentaires qui, une fois enregistrés, sont repris durablement par l'appareil photo.
